Matryoshka Invasion / Invasión de matryoshkas

My friend Marina/ Mi amiga Marina

A while ago I wrote an article in spanish about the russian nesting doll: the matryoshka (in Argentina they call it mamushka). A russian journalist recently contacted me because of that article and also because my family was related to the creation of this russian symbol... but maybe it's not only that. I don't know why, but I see them everywhere. And I don't mean my grandmother's living room or my nigh table, I mean EVERYWHERE. I'm not surprised about the chinese imitations, but I must say that these argentinian designs amaze me (artentino). Just another globalization example, I guess...

(^•^) I like the sound of the Argentinian version of matryoshka=mamushka. Sounds so cute :) And yes mamushkas are everywhere. They are adorable and sweet. It's such a wonderful thing that your family has such an important connection with them, it's quite amazing!
